Adventure Share – Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my bike is damaged or stolen?
Renters are responsible for returning your bike in the same condition it was received, excluding normal wear and tear. If your bike is damaged or stolen during a rental, contact Adventure Share immediately. We'll investigate the incident and pursue reimbursement from the responsible renter.
How does Adventure Share work?
Adventure Share connects bike owners (hosts) with riders looking to rent. Hosts list their bikes, set availability and pricing, and renters can request a booking for specific dates.
Creating an account and listing your bikes is free. Adventure Share only earns a commission when a booking is successfully completed.
When am I charged?
You will complete the payment step during checkout. Your reservation is still a request until the host accepts. If the host declines, you will not be charged for the trip.
Yes. Adventure Share uses trusted third-party payment providers to securely process payments and payouts. Your banking information is never shared with renters.
Yes! If a host has multiple bikes available, you can select more than one bike during the booking process. This is perfect for families, friends, or group rides, and allows you to reserve everything in a single request.
Your booking request is sent to the host for approval. Your payment method is collected during checkout, but you won't be charged unless the host accepts your request. You'll receive a notification and email once the host responds.
What is included in the total price?
Your total may include the bike rental price, optional accessories, a delivery fee (if selected), applicable taxes, and a processing fee. You will see a full breakdown before confirming.
What is the cancellation policy?
If a renter cancels more than 24 hours before the rental start time, they will receive a refund.
If a renter cancels within 24 hours of the rental start time, a 50% cancellation fee applies.
Why are some dates blocked?
Dates can be blocked if the bike is already booked or if the host marked them unavailable. If your dates are blocked, try another range or another bike.
Pickup vs. delivery — what’s the difference?
Pickup is free and means you meet the host at the agreed location. Delivery is optional (if offered) and includes a host-set delivery fee shown in your total.
Can I add accessories?
Yes. Hosts may offer accessories like helmets, pumps, tubes, or racks. Availability can change based on overlapping bookings, so quantities may be limited.
What if the bike is returned dirty?
Please return the bike reasonably clean. If a bike is returned excessively dirty (heavy mud or debris), a cleaning fee of $20 may apply.
How do I delete my account?
Tap the “Delete Account” button in the My Account tab. Please note, it can take up to two days to process the request.
After creating your host account, you'll complete identity verification and connect your payout account through PayPal. Once your rental is complete, your earnings will be sent through PayPal Payouts. Depending on your account settings, you may choose to receive funds in your PayPal account or through Venmo.
Yes. Hosts are never required to accept a booking request. If you're unavailable or uncomfortable with a request, you can simply decline it. The renter will not be charged.
Yes! Hosts can list as many bikes as they'd like, making Adventure Share a great option for individuals, families, and bike rental businesses.
That depends on how you've listed your bike. If you've selected Pickup, you'll arrange a meeting location with the renter. If you've enabled Delivery, you'll deliver the bike to the agreed location for the delivery fee you set.
We recommend taking a few photos of your bike before every rental and ensuring it's clean, in good working condition, and that any included accessories are present. This helps document the bike's condition before the trip begins.
Identity verification helps keep Adventure Share safe and secure for everyone. It helps prevent fraud, builds trust between renters and hosts, and is required before hosts can receive payouts. Your personal information is encrypted and handled securely by our trusted identity verification partner.
Your renter's payment method is collected during checkout, but they are only charged after you accept the booking request. If you decline the request, the renter is not charged.
